WHAT EXACTLY IS THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER

Jesus was commanding his disciples to go and wait to receive the Promise of The Father, which we all agree was the Baptism of The Holy Ghost! If you are not familiar with all of the happenings of the "Last Supper" which was indeed the Passover Feast, there was three pieces of bread that would have been eaten. One piece was punctured and stripped so as to remove any hint of yeast in it. The Father of the Passover supper would take that piece of bread, wrap it in a white cloth and hide it away, only to be searched for and eaten as a treat after the supper had ended. Something like a modern day Easter egg hunt. This tradition was so named, "The Promise of the Father." The promise of something more that intrigued all of the guest. Think for a moment of the punctured and stripped body of Jesus that was wrapped in a white linen cloth and hidden away in the tomb of Joseph. Early in the morning the women came in "Search" for Him.

When Jesus told his followers to go and wait for the "Promise of the Father", they perfectly understood the analogy. The best was yet to come. "I have been with you, but I shall be in you! PENTECOST!!!
